Emergency/Trauma

Emergencies always happen at the most inconvenient times. This is especially true with tooth pain which seems to happen when we least expect it, like when you are heading out of town, going to a special event, or an important day at work. We make an extra effort to see all emergencies on the same day.

  • We will asses your level of pain and how long you have been in pain.
  • We will take a digital x-ray of the area and perform an exam.
  • We will make a treatment recommendation for you to consider.
  • Most of all, we will make sure you leave in as much comfort as possible.

If you have a tooth that is knocked out due to trauma, follow these steps:

  • Gently rinse the tooth with water to remove any gross debris
  • Immediately re-implant the tooth into the socket (if it is not possible to re-implant the tooth, place in milk)
  • Do not allow the tooth to dry
  • Do not touch the root of the tooth
  • Call us immediately. The best window of success for re-implantation is within the first 60 minutes after the accident takes place.
